Organelles are functional compartments within cells responsible for specific life activities. They ensure that cellular activities are carried out efficiently and orderly through spatial compartmentalization and functional specialization. Organelles form an interactive network through division of labor and close contact, promoting material exchange and information communication,
and carrying out a variety of biological processes. Clinically, the dysregulation of the organelle interaction network is closely related to the pathogenesis and potential treatment of diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, tumors, and metabolic disorders. Organelle marker antibodies are commonly used tools in cell biology research. In protein blot (WB) experiments with organelle-enriched
extracts, they can serve as positive controls to determine whether the organelles have been successfully extracted. Marker antibodies can also be used with immunofluorescence (IF) technology to observe the morphological structure of organelles and understand protein subcellular localization, helping researchers explore the functions of proteins in cellular processes.
Common organelle marker antibodies include Calnexin antibody (endoplasmic reticulum), TOMM antibody (mitochondria),Catalase antibody (peroxisomes), LAMP1 antibody (lysosomes), GM130 antibody (Golgi apparatus), etc., which can qualitatively, locate, and detect protein-protein interactions at the protein level, aiding in the exploration of the biological functions of related proteins and the roles of organelle proteins in normal or disease models.
