ABCD1 Polyclonal Antibody
ABCD1 Polyclonal Antibody
The ATP binding cassette subfamily D member 1 encoded by ABCD1 is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the ALD subfamily, which is involved in peroxisomal import of fatty acids and/or fatty acyl-CoAs in the organelle. All known peroxisomal ABC transporters are half transporters which require a partner half transporter molecule to form a functional homodimeric or heterodimeric transporter. This peroxisomal membrane protein is likely involved in the peroxisomal transport or catabolism of very long chain fatty acids. Defects in this gene have been identified as the underlying cause of adrenoleukodystrophy, an X-chromosome recessively inherited demyelinating disorder of the nervous system.
The ABCD1 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive immunological reagent designed for the detection and quantification of ABCD1 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human ABCD1 protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody exhibits high affinity and specificity towards ABCD1 protein, making it an ideal tool for various applications such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA.
The ABCD1 Polyclonal Antibody is validated for use in human, mouse, and rat samples, and has been extensively tested for its specificity and sensitivity. It is a reliable and reproducible reagent that can detect ABCD1 protein at low concentrations, making it suitable for both qualitative and quantitative analysis. This antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
In summary, the ABCD1 Polyclonal Antibody is a high-quality immunological reagent that offers exceptional sensitivity and specificity for the detection and quantification of ABCD1 protein in various biological samples. Its reliable performance and versatility make it an essential tool for researchers in the fields of biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology.
