The serine-threonine protein kinase encoded by the AKT1 gene is catalytically inactive in serum-starved primary and immortalized fibroblasts. AKT1 and the related AKT2 are activated by platelet-derived growth factor. The activation is rapid and specific, and it is abrogated by mutations in the pleckstrin homology domain of AKT1. It was shown that the activation occurs through phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase. In the developing nervous system AKT is a critical mediator of growth factor-induced neuronal survival. Survival factors can suppress apoptosis in a transcription-independent manner by activating the serine/threonine kinase AKT1, which then phosphorylates and inactivates components of the apoptotic machinery. Mutations in AKT1 have been associated with the Proteus syndrome. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for AKT1.

The AKT Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and reliable tool for the detection and analysis of AKT protein expression in various biological samples. This antibody is produced through a rigorous and controlled process, ensuring its high affinity and specificity towards AKT.

The AKT Polyclonal Antibody exhibits exceptional sensitivity, allowing for the detection of even low levels of AKT protein. Its superior performance is attributed to its polyclonal nature, which enables recognition of multiple epitopes on the target protein.

This antibody is suitable for a wide range of applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It has been extensively validated in various experimental settings, demonstrating consistent and reproducible results.

The AKT Polyclonal Antibody is supplied in a convenient and user-friendly format, ensuring ease of use and storage. It is provided in a liquid form, eliminating the need for reconstitution, and is compatible with most common laboratory protocols.

With its exceptional specificity, sensitivity, and versatility, the AKT Polyclonal Antibody is an indispensable tool for researchers and scientists studying AKT protein and its associated pathways. Its reliable performance and consistent results make it an ideal choice for a wide range of research applications.
