Mouse BMP-9 ELISA Kit
Mouse BMP-9 ELISA Kit
Application: For quantitative detection of BMP-9 in mouse serum, plasma, body fluids, tissue lysates or cell culture supernatants.
Introduction: Growth differentiation factor 2 (GDF2) also known as bone morphogenetic protein (BMP)-9 is a protein that in human s is encoded by the GDF2 gene.GDF2 belongs to the transforming growth factor beta superfamily.GDF2 contains an N-terminal TGF-beta-like pro-peptide (prodomain) (residues 56–257) and a C-terminal transforming growth factor beta superfamily domain (325–428). GDF2 (BMP9) is secreted as a pro-complex consisting of the BMP9 growth factor dimer non-covalently bound to two BMP9 prodomain molecules in an open-armed conformation. GDF2 has a role in inducing and maintaining the ability of embryonic basal forebrain cholinergic neurons (BFCN) to respond to a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine; BFCN are important for the processes of learning, memory and attention.
Principle of the Assay: This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-BMP-9 polyclonal antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-BMP-9 polyclonal antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the BMP-9 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of BMP-9 can be calculated.
Storage and Expiration: Store at 2-8℃ for 6 months, or at -20℃ for 12 months.
Range: 15.6 pg/ml - 1000 pg/ml
Sensitivity: < 4 pg/ml
