ERCC2 Polyclonal Antibody
ERCC2 Polyclonal Antibody
The nucleotide excision repair pathway is a mechanism to repair damage to DNA. The protein encoded by this gene is involved in transcription-coupled nucleotide excision repair and is an integral member of the basal transcription factor BTF2/TFIIH complex. The gene product has ATP-dependent DNA helicase activity and belongs to the RAD3/XPD subfamily of helicases. Defects in this gene can result in three different disorders, the cancer-prone syndrome xeroderma pigmentosum complementation group D, trichothiodystrophy, and Cockayne syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
The ERCC2 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of ERCC2 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human ERCC2 protein. The antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and is supplied as a liquid in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
The ERCC2 Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It recognizes a single band of approximately 87 kDa in Western blot analysis of human cell lysates, which corresponds to the expected molecular weight of ERCC2 protein. In addition, the antibody shows strong staining of ERCC2 protein in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human tissues, indicating its suitability for use in immunohistochemistry.
This antibody is an essential tool for researchers studying DNA repair mechanisms and related diseases, as ERCC2 is a critical component of the nucleotide excision repair pathway. It can be used to investigate the expression and localization of ERCC2 protein in various tissues and cell types, as well as to monitor changes in ERCC2 levels under different experimental conditions.
In summary, the ERCC2 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and high-quality reagent that offers excellent performance in a range of applications. Its specificity, sensitivity, and versatility make it an ideal choice for researchers working in the fields of DNA repair, cancer biology, and genomics.
