IL-5 Polyclonal Antibody
IL-5 Polyclonal Antibody
IL5 encodes a cytokine that acts as a growth and differentiation factor for both B cells and eosinophils. Interleukin-5 plays a major role in the regulation of eosinophil formation, maturation, recruitment and survival. The increased production of this cytokine may be related to pathogenesis of eosinophil-dependent inflammatory diseases. This cytokine functions by binding to its receptor, which is a heterodimer, whose beta subunit is shared with the receptors for interleukine 3 (IL3) and colony stimulating factor 2 (CSF2/GM-CSF). This gene is located on chromosome 5 within a cytokine gene cluster which includes interleukin 4 (IL4), interleukin 13 (IL13), and CSF2. This gene, IL4, and IL13 may be regulated coordinately by long-range regulatory elements spread over 120 kilobases on chromosome 5q31.
The IL-5 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool for the detection and quantification of interleukin-5 (IL-5) in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human IL-5. The resulting polyclonal antibody exhibits high affinity and specificity towards IL-5, making it an ideal reagent for a wide range of applications, including ELISA, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry.
The IL-5 Polyclonal Antibody is designed to recognize both natural and recombinant forms of IL-5 from various species, including human, mouse, rat, and others. It has been extensively validated for its performance in detecting IL-5 in serum, plasma, cell lysates, and tissue extracts. The antibody is supplied as a purified IgG fraction, which has been affinity-purified from rabbit serum using protein A chromatography.
The IL-5 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying the role of IL-5 in various physiological and pathological processes, including asthma, allergy, inflammation, and cancer. Its high sensitivity and specificity make it an ideal reagent for detecting low levels of IL-5 in complex biological samples. With its reliable performance and consistent results, the IL-5 Polyclonal Antibody is a trusted reagent for researchers in the life sciences.
